- CDD - International Project manager in astronomical instrumentation (M/F)

The Centre de Recherche Astrophysique de Lyon (CRAL) is looking for a project manager to lead the study and realisation of BlueMUSE, a new instrument for the Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory (ESO).
Every about 10 years, ESO is updating its suite of instruments on large telescopes, which it is operating for the European astronomical community in the Atacama desert in Chile. The proposal from CRAL to build a very ambitious integral field spectrograph operating at blue and UV wavelengths, named BlueMUSE, has been selected by ESO following a competitive call.
CRAL is now responsible for the next decade as the lead of an international consortium grouping ten research institutes in France, Australia, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom. We are looking to hire a project manager to lead this large operation.

The position is initially opened as a fixed termed contract of 18 months. We intend to get it opened as a permanent research engineer position at CNRS.
