- The Instrumentation Pole is involved in several developments of instruments dedicated to the large observatories, like ESO or CFHT, also it accompanied instrumental R&D.
- It includes expert staff in mechanics, optics, electronics and project management.
- It has at its disposition an integration hall with its optics laboratory, a mechanical workshop, an electronic workshop on the Charles André site, the historical Observatory of Lyon.
