On March 8, 2021, the French Ministry in charge of equality between women and men, diversity and equal opportunities honored a woman who has distinguished herself through her actions in favor of gender equality in each of the eighteen French regions. Isabelle Vauglin, researcher at CRAL and regional head of Femmes & Sciences, is the winner for the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region.
Nominated by the Préfecture of the Region, she was selected by the Ministry who awarded her the medal of equality of the campaign "# 1000 possibles" for her numerous actions in favor of girls in science, including the days "Sciences, un métier de femmes !" ("Sciences, a women’s job!") that she has organized on March 8 for 5 years, with Audrey Mazur-Palandre of LabEx ASLAN and the support of Femmes & Sciences and the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. Her goal is to act against prejudices and gender stereotypes that prevent young girls from going into scientific fields.

To improve the visibility of women scientists and to give feminine references to young girls, she also realized the exhibition "la Science taille XX elles" with the CNRS’ regional delegation and ENS-Lyon. CRAL supported her for these two actions.
