Round table discussion "Recognizing the talent of women" in science, sport and beyond.

In the Salons de l’Hôtel de Ville
Entry is free, but pre-registration is required.
The event will be in French

The city of Lyon is welcoming the final and semi-final games of the FIFA Women’s World Cup (WWC France 2019), taking place on the 2nd, 3rd and 7th July. At the same time, Lyon is also hosting the most important European astronomy conference, EWASS 2019, 24th to 28th June.
What is the connection between these two events?... The low-visibility of women in both disciplines! That is why both WWC France 2019 and EWASS 2019 are joining together to organize a round table discussion to address the problem of the lack of visibility and recognition of women, even when they reach the top of their professions. It will be the opportunity to ask why women continue to suffer discrimination and to shine a light on the remarkable talents of sportswomen and scientists that are often overlooked.
The panellists will be : Thérèse Rabatel, Assistant to the Mayor of Lyon and deputy for gender equality, Marie-Sophie Obama, president of Lyon ASVEL Féminin (or her representative), Cécile Ottogalli, historian of sport and gender, Clémence Perronnet, sociologist specializing in gender, and Claudine Hermann, honorary president of the Femmes & Sciences association.

A cocktail will be offered at the end of the evening.

The number of places is limited to 150 people. It is obligatory to register in advance, here.

This round table will be preceded by (16:00 - 18:00), a debate "De poussières d’étoiles à citoyens du monde" in the Tête d’Or park, part of the Dialogues en Humanité.
