By public transport

- From Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport
Take the RhôneExpress tram from the airport to Lyon Part-Dieu train station.

- From Lyon Part-Dieu train station
Take one of the following options (both using the same metro ticket all along the journey) :

  • Take metro B to its terminus “Saint-Genis-Laval Hôpital Lyon Sud” (last stop) then bus 78 towards “Gare de Givors-Ville”. Get off at the “Observatoire” stop and then walk up ’rue des Martyrs’ (short but steep road) and turn left onto avenue Charles André, you will see the observatory gate. Please note: the frequency of bus 78 is low, check the timetable carefully before coming!
  • Take the metro B to the stop Gare d’Oullins, then the C10 bus in the direction of “Saint-Genis Barolles” and get off at the “Saint-Genis Centre” stop which is located about 20 minutes walk from the observatory going up ’rue des Martyrs’ (a steep road). The C10 bus is more frequent than the 78 but the way to the observatory by feet is longer.
  • Alternative option from Lyon, La Mulatière and Oullins: Take the C10 bus (which serves Place Bellecour and the Musée des Confluences) in the direction of “Saint-Genis Barolles” and get off at the “Saint-Genis Centre” stop which is located about 20 minutes walk from the observatory going up rue des Martyrs (steep road). The journey is longer but the C10 line has a much higher frequency.
