Information about Shadows

Welcome to the Shadows users community.

Shadows has already allowed thousands of users around the world to build their own sundial and to discover gnomonics.

Shadows, in its standard level, is a freeware program. Do not hesitate to talk about this program to your friends. It is the ideal tool to build a customizable and accurate sundial. Shadows Expert and Shadows Pro

Compatibility
Shadows runs under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millenium Edition, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. It is recommanded though to use Windows 2000 or Windows XP if possible. Shadows may be used under Linux or Macintosh using a Windows emulator. As the program's documentation is in HTML format, it is necessary to have an Internet browser compatible with Javascript and the Cascading Style Sheets installed on your computer to be able to display the documentation's pages.

Mailing List
You may subscribe to the Shadows mailing list in order to receive periodically the Shadows Information Letter. This letter will notify you when a new version of Shadows is released or when a special event occurs on the www.cadrans-solaires.org web site. Click here to subscribe.

Documentation
Shadows comes with a complete documentation. Do not hesitate to read it especially at the beginning to discover the richness of the program. You can access to this documentation by the Program menu of the Start button, or by clicking on the icon in the start up screen. Moreover, each dialog box has a Help button which bring you to the corresponding help page. In addition to the program's documentation you may visit the web site: www.cadrans-solaires.org

Translations
You can help to improve the quality of existing translations or even translate pages that are still in French. Please refer to the page How to translate the program?, in the help file.
